Ugh... sofas.

I need a new sofa for this beloved stress trap of a house. I need it so that I can decorate and organize around it. It feels like an incredibly fundamental next step in getting this project closer to that non-existent, "You are never really done" finish line.

Just like all of the other amazing product searches... this one has left me in a maze of browser tabs. So what's the problem? Is it money? No, it isn't. It's the space. Of course I don't want to drop a real serious chunk of change on a sofa, but at this point I would if it was right. Unfortunately, I don't think I have found my unicorn sofa yet. I'm a little unclear why 108 is such a popular couch measurement but that is really the case.

Here is where I've looked:
Wayfair (Perigold, Wayfair, AllModern, Birch Lane)
Interior Define
Article
West Elm
Pottery Barn
Crate + Barrell
Bob's Discount Furniture
Ikea
World Market
Jordan's Furniture
Joybird

What are the challenges:
Space = ideally it shouldn't be wider than 98 inches
Height = I'd like to keep it low profile
Style = I don't want it to look like a cheap, foam, square sofa

What would be great:
detachable cushions
chaise feature on the right
bonus storage in the chaise

top / Haven Sectional @ West Elm (108 inches)
bottom / Shelter Sectional @ West Elm (105 inches)

Current Options?
So where do I stand right now? I feel pretty convinced that I can't compromise on the space. I just don't want the sofa to be taking over the entire first floor. I don't want everything to feel crowded. 98 inches feels like a very realistic amount of space. Given that, I'm down to really two options: one from Wayfair and an Ikea one.

Ikea Vimle $1200 // I was pretty set on the Ikea one for a week or so - but went to the store and changed my mind. That being said, I've scoured the internet for another couch that has the same dimensions as that one ... and it's just not in existence. The Ikea version makes me feel good about cost and size. Pros = shape, cost, washable covers
Cons = cheap looking?
Wayfair Perrault Sectional $1500 // My favorite thing is that I can return it.
Pros = 100% returnable for store credit
Cons = I am not convinced in any of the measurements on the Wayfair site. Sometimes they make sense and sometimes they do not. See the example below...
